Migration is truly a journey that is especially challenging when you’re a giant. However, getting over it didn’t take standing on the giant’s shoulders this time.

A good portion of engineering drill, a couple of powerful integrations,—and a legacy eCommerce platform got rejuvenated and kicked into overdrive. And just like that, x3 growth, tens of thousands of products elegantly listed, all with rock-steady performance.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Technology scaling

All across North and South America, the client used to market and source their products through a custom eCommerce platform for distributors. Running on nopCommerce, the web portal enabled efficient ordering and shipment to local stores.

Yet, given the plan to extend the distributor base from 100+ to 300+ partners while onboarding new target markets, they risked struggling with adding those massive tech landscapes. The limitations abounded with scalability issues and cloud failures to support overly complex B2B logic.

CLIENT’S OBJECTIVES

Build an optimized BigCommerce-powered B2B distributor portal enabling seamless scalability, and driving tech performance and business growth.

CHALLENGE

ERP restrictions

Data inaccuracies and search difficulties occurred within the existing ERP, as it imposed character limits in the product name and description fields.

It was crucial to rule out similar issues, as the end solution was to process a broad product catalog with up to 30,000 items and thousands of custom specifications.

VENDOR COMPETITION WIN

Amitech Group was a hands-down winner for the team’s proven BigCommerce expertise, industry-certified engineers, and successful tech partnerships to its name.

SOLUTION

A brand-new B2B portal

From scratch, the Amitech Group team has built a brand-new distributor web portal underlying BigCommerce.

Tying together multilayer tech structures, the B2B ordering platform now serves a single source of truth all across the eCommerce process: product search and selection, order management, shipment, and back-ordering.
